The day I met you was like a new chapter of my life

I felt as if I was complete with you by my side

You would always tell me you’d never leave

And I clung on to every word like a bird on a tree

But as the months got longer I felt less stronger

For it was you who hurt me so why did I stay longer

I never gave up because I believed in love

I held onto every word you said although all of it was bluff

Then I realized who you really were

A guy with no intentions to love a woman like thus

I would wait for hours just to see you

Wasting my precious time because I never truly needed you

I felt as if I had been drowning for a thousand years

The hatred you had towards me was so unclear

And in the end you left me with nothing but a broken heart

And all of the empty promises I should have recognized from the start.
